I’ve bought a web cam , it works as soon as I plug it in but the picture is not that sharp. There is a message saying that this USB device can perform faster if you connect it to a HI – SPEED USB 2.0 port. Then it gives a list of ports as follows: The USB composite Device is a HI_SPEED USB device and will function at reduced speed when plugged into a non-HI-SPEED port. Then it tells you that the hubs shown in bold type have free ports that can support the HI_SPEED USB device – Intel (R) 82801G (CH7 family) USB 2 Enhanced Host controller -27CC – USB Root Hub (8 ports) . I’ve tried all ports but the result is the same, What should I do?

i can tell that your webcam can connect to a usb 2.0 highspeed port but your pc only has a non-highspeed usb 2.0. even if you plug it into a highspeed port, the image quality will not be increased.

The problem is the hub might have USB 2 ports, but its plugged into your PC into a USB 1.1 port, so its going to run at the slower speed.
You have to add USB ports to the inside of your PC with an expansion card.
